(PRWEB) April 28, 2006 -- Frank Titus, the creator of Titus Motion Therapy (TMT), is proving there is power in radio, the power to heal. On April 9, 2006 Frank teamed with 97.1 free FM in Los Angeles for the launch of The Painkillers, a talk show devoted to chronic pain elimination every Sunday from 4 to 5 PM (PDT), to resounding success. For the past three weeks now, The Painkillers has ranked #1 among talk radio formats in its time slot, illustrating the sheer number of people not only living with chronic pain, but also their desire to rid themselves of it.

The Painkillers radio show was created as a forum to discuss, reveal, and share with the public the unparalleled success Titus Motion Therapy has had in completely eliminating all forms of chronic pain. Developed over the last fifteen years, Titus Motion Therapy has seen a success rate of over 95% in treating such painful chronic conditions as herniated discs, sciatica, whiplash, carpal tunnel, migraines, fibromyalgia, TMJ, rotator cuff injuries, degenerative joint disease, tennis elbow, ACL injuries, and arthritis. TMT is an 8 week program utilizing specific, yet simple exercises, stretches and motions to restore posture, balance and flexibility. This results in the elimination of pain and chronic injuries.

Traditional approaches to chronic pain including pain killers, injections, chiropractic, surgery, physical therapy and orthopedics are designed to manage the symptoms of pain, not the cause. Often these treatments can span a lifetime, never with permanent results. TMT was developed to stop the CAUSE of pain in only eight weeks, instead of spending countless dollars on managing the symptoms.

The body is designed for proper function and alignment through movement. However, with the evolution of technology has come a sedentary lifestyle. Computers, TV and driving are a few of the reasons the human bodies are no longer as active as in the past. One result of this inactivity is poor posture, a culprit of many chronic ailments. Through exercises that promote balance and flexibility, TMT helps the individual’s body remember its innate blueprint for health.

“We knew that radio was going to be the ideal medium for spreading the word about Titus Motion Therapy and eliminating pain, but we never expected this level of response,” reveals Frank. “We get so many calls from all types of people every week during the show that it is literally impossible to get to them all in one hour,” explains Frank.

Frank Titus has successfully treated thousands of people including high profile clients in entertainment and sports, from PGA to Olympians, NFL and NBA players. He has conducted workshops throughout the country educating people on the ability to heal through movement, and he holds a degree in Exercise Physiology with emphasis on Kinesiology and Corporate Fitness. Titus also treats clients internationally via video consultations.

Troy, MI (PRWEB) April 4, 2006 – Sutter Health, one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit health care systems, has selected EnovateIT, the leading integrator of wireless mobile point-of care workstations to assist with purchasing of point-of-care carts and wall mounts.

Sutter Health is in the process of deploying network wide a powerful electronic health record (EHR) system that will electronically connect more than 5,000 physicians, 25 hospitals and millions of patients across its not-for-profit Northern California network. It will give physicians and other approved health care professionals immediate access to secure online medical and patient data, including recent radiology, lab and pharmacy results. Not only will this powerful tool help ensure better, safer and more efficient health care, it also will enable patients to view their own health histories and test results securely online.

“We expect our EHR to set a new standard for patient safety and satisfaction by creating more efficient and accurate systems for caregivers and patients alike,” said Julie Cooper, Sutter Health senior technical project manager. "EnovateIT’s expert guidance will help us in selecting the best mobile carts and wall mounted solutions for this important system."

EnovateIT provided assistance to Cooper, who oversees the selection of a variety of computer carts and wall mounts that will make Sutter’s EHR system from Epic available to clinicians in medical groups and hospitals throughout the Sutter Health network. When the project is complete, Sutter will have successfully deployed 4,000 mobile and wall mounted computer workstations for data capture and the bedside, within support departments such as radiology and admitting, and within physician exam rooms.

The mobile device selection process began in 2005 with over 200 employees providing feedback during the evaluation. They represented a wide range of functional areas, including patient care, clinical informatics, information systems and technology, occupational health, biomedical engineering and infection control. As part of the selection process, EnovateIT listened very closely to Sutter’s IT and clinical staff needs to determine what products would create the best solution for their facilities. The resulting solutions were proven products from multiple manufacturers that improved patient care and enhanced staff efficiency.

“EnovateIT’s knowledge of point-of-care wall-mount and mobile cart solutions and excellent on-site service will permit our IT staff to focus on the software implementation and end-user training,” said Cooper.

Sutter Health had previously partnered with EnovateIT in 2003 to select mobile carts for its barcode technology that helps ensure safe administration of medications at the bedside. As an expert in point-of-care carts, EnovateIT supported Sutter in the roll-out of 1,000 mobile workstations across its 26 hospitals over a two-year period.

"We are pleased that EnovateIT will be an integral part of this multi-faceted EHR initiative at Sutter Health. Healthgrades: List of orthopedist physicians

Memorial Hospital of Tampa

Here is some interesting research on shoulder surgery:

Manhattan Orthopaedic Surgeon Performs Innovative Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement

“Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement is a key development in the field of shoulder surgery, which makes better use of the large triangular deltoid muscle covering the shoulder joint. The deltoid is responsible for shoulder motions to the front, side and back. This innovative procedure uses a reverse ball and socket which is specifically designed for use in patients with non-functional rotator cuffs and arthritis, but who still have a good, functioning deltoid muscle.” said Kevin Plancher, M.D. a leading Manhattan Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist and head of Plancher Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine PLLC in New York City.

(PRWEB) April 7, 2006 -- Every year thousands of Americans undergo shoulder replacements to help alleviate pain and restore arm and muscle function. The loss of arm function results from severe arthritis in combination with a tear in their rotator cuff. The rotator cuff is composed of four muscles and their tendons which help to lift and rotate the arm as well as to stabilize the ball of the shoulder within the joint. For patients who have arthritis with an intact rotator cuff or a small reparable rotator cuff tear, the standard shoulder replacement surgery works well. However, this is not the case for patients with severe shoulder arthritis, who have rotator cuffs torn beyond repair and can no longer lift their arms to their sides.

“This type of patient now has a new option for restoring the function of their arm”, said Kevin Plancher, M.D. a leading Manhattan Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist and head of Plancher Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine PLLC in New York City. “Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement is a key development in the field of shoulder surgery, which makes better use of the large triangular deltoid muscle covering the shoulder joint. The deltoid is responsible for shoulder motions to the front, side and back. This innovative procedure uses a reverse ball and socket which is specifically designed for use in patients with non-functional rotator cuffs and arthritis, but who still have a good, functioning deltoid muscle.”

In standard total shoulder replacement, a plastic socket is attached to the shoulder blade and a metal ball replaces the head of the upper arm bone. The new approach achieves the same result but the components are simply in reverse placement.

“In Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement,” said Dr. Plancher, “we completely change the structure of the joint as the socket and metal ball are switched. The implant places the metal ball onto the shoulder blade and the socket onto the top of the upper arm bone. By shifting the center of rotation, the strength needed to move the arm is shifted away from the damaged rotator cuff and transferred to the healthier deltoid muscle. The general shape of the shoulder remains the same despite the fact that the ball and socket are reversed.”

Immediately following surgery, the patient may lift his or her arm and begin simple stretches to get used to the new shoulder and formal physical therapy may begin without any need to protect it. Most patients are pleasantly surprised to be able to perform their activities of daily living within one or two weeks following surgery.

Here is more on shoulder cuff problems:

Dr. Mark A. Mighell: The Reverse Shoulder Prosthesis for Glenohumeral Arthritis Associated with Severe Rotator Cuff Deficiency

9th International Congress on Surgery of the Shoulder

Friday, April 07, 2006

From:

Mark A. Frankle

Patients who have pain and dysfunction from glenohumeral arthritis associated with severe rotator cuff deficiency have had few treatment options. Data from the study published in JBJS by Mark A. Frankle, M.D., of Tampa, Florida, suggest that arthroplasty with the reverse shoulder prosthesis may be a viable treatment option. The procedure, in which the humerus is converted to a socket and the glenoid to a ball, provides a stable fulcrum for gelenohumeral articulation. In this JBJS/ VJO video supplement, Dr. Frankle explains why he has achieved improved results and demonstrates his surgical technique.
