CARLSBAD, CA (PRWEB) April 29, 2006 -- Quantum Orthopedics, an emerging leader in the development of innovative spine surgical devices, announced today the introduction and availability of its Crystal™ VBR.
Quantum Orthopedics’ President and CEO, Todd Andres said “The Crystal™ VBR is one of several products we will be introducing this year as Quantum Orthopedics broadens its product offering. This product adds to a successful line of vertebral body replacement devices that we currently offer. The Crystal™ series of implants was optimized to offer maximum bony in-growth area and while maintaining implant structural strength. The system includes a color-coded instrument system designed to enable the surgeon to safely and quickly perform the procedure. ”
The Crystal™ VBRs are radiolucent with radio-dense markers to enable accurate positioning and placement. Crystal™ implants feature generous grafting windows and a large interior graft space for optimal performance. Additionally, Crystal™ implants feature uni-directional ridges designed to prevent implant migration. The Crystal™ spinal spacers are made from PEEK-OPTIMA®, an advanced biomaterial from Invibio®. Crystal™ implants are available in 7 heights angled 0° and 7°. The trials are color coded to match with the autoclave stable implant caddies.
